OnePlus is a renowned brand that is known for its line specifications in mid-range. In recent years, the company has taken the flagship segment in premium ranges and mid-budget, and users are loving it. OnePlus priced the 9RT in India at 42,999INR.

The 9RT is the successor to the 9 series. It has a bigger display, an upgraded processor, and a better camera, making it a better upgrade over the OnePlus 9R. If you own a OnePlus smartphone, you should think about getting the OnePlus 9RT.

If you ask me about the features, we can say it is an affordable, performance-oriented device that backs up Android skin. In India, the OnePlus 9 Pro is being sold for 64,999INR, a significant increase in price over last year. The company has merged the OxygenOS and ColorOS. Let us find out is it worth upgrading or not?

Design:

The OnePlus 9RT has dimensions of 16.22*7.46*0.829 cm and weighs 198.5gms. It is slightly bigger than the OnePlus 9R. The 9RT is slightly on the heavier side of the paper but it did not feel heavy while holding. If you take out the silicone cover, you will not be able to distinguish between 9R and 9RT in terms of weight. The cover makes the difference visible.

The 9RT is a stunning phone with a high-end design. It is available in two shades: hacker black and glossy nanosilver. The chassis has a matted back panel. It has a triple camera set up at the back, and you get a power button on the right. On the left sits the volume rockers. At the bottom, you get a USB-C port, SIM card tray, and speaker grille.

Overall, we are impressed with the 9RT looks. It is easy to hold and scroll through with one hand.

Display:

A 6.62inch AMOLED display graces the OnePlus 9RT. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 600Hz touch sampling rate. With Gorilla glass protection it provides a resolution of 1080*2400pixels. The phone is bright and great to use. The colors, however, are a bit tad. If you’ve used OnePlus phones before, you can tell the difference with your naked eye. You will love watching binge shows on the HD screen.

It has an in-built fingerprint sensor that snaps in within a fraction of seconds and you get a seamless experience. However, we miss the standard IP rating here.

Performance and Software:

OnePlus 9RT is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with 12GB RAM and has a storage option of up to 256GB.

You will love the smooth experience the 9RT will provide you with whatever you throw in. It handles multi-tasking beautifully and does not lag in between messages, videos, or any task. The gaming experience on the phone is also fine. You can play games like Subway Surfer and PUBG on it. The laptop does not get hot while gaming but gets warm after prolonged use.

The software of the 9RT is Android 11 based on Oxygen OS 11.3. It would be great if it run on Android 12. Until it upgrades let us see what it offers you now.

You get a well-optimized smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with Oxygen OS 11.3. It does not have any bugs but a few bloatware are present.

Camera:

The OnePlus 9RT backs up a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera, 16MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth camera that is much better than the 48MP camera of the 9 series. It consists of a 16MP selfie camera similar to the 9 series.

The 9RT has mixed camera performance but does not compromise on picture details. Whether you take mages in bright light or indoors, images are clear and precise. When you zoom in to the images, the macro feature lets you capture mesmerizing pics.

In dim lights, colors are a bit saturated and make the images a bit dramatic which is a plus. The front camera is also great and captures great images in bright outdoor lights. In low lights, it falls short but color reproduction is amazing.

Battery:

The 9RT inhibits the 4500mAh battery that you get in all OnePlus smartphones. It comes with a 65W fast charger. You will have to turn on the high-performance mode for heavy-loading games. But the battery will drain fast if you do so. The phone lasted a whole day with a busy schedule and screen time of 5 hours. The 9RT charges to full in just 30 minutes and even 10 minutes of charge lasts for hours.

Should you buy the OnePlus 9RT or not?

The OnePlus 9RT is a great power-packed phone that offers a great display, performance, decent cameras, and battery life. It is also a great phone for gamers. However, it is a bit costlier at 42,999INR. It will be compelling to clearly state that this is what you should go for as you get many alternatives in this segment.
